I’m enjoying writing down this commentary a lot more than I thought I would and the motivation to read is definitely valuable. The characters are starting to grow on me a little more as they show more of themselves in the writing and even though my comments can be snarky, they are never meant to be mean spirited, it’s all in good fun!

Chapter 12
I wake up between two male bodies. I keep my eyes closed and fight not to tense, waiting for my brain to catch up with my circumstances.
I’ll catch you up – you’re a lucky, lucky woman!
I relax against him, soaking up all this skin-to-skin contact. It’s heady and intoxicating, nearly as much as the sex was last night. I can touch these men as much as I want.
No complaints here! Get it girl, I’ll live vicariously through you.
I don’t know what it says about me that I had Malachi last night – have him right nect to me right now – and all I can think about is kissing Wolf again. But then, Malachi seems just as into this as I am.
I can understand not knowing how to react to being the center of attention for the first time in her life, but just roll with it! If they’re both into it and no one is getting hurt, where is this perceived harm?
Malachi props his head on one hand and looks down at me. “Stop worrying about what you should want and focus on what you do want”
No notes, this is a good line and makes me like Malachi a little more
“Wolf.” Malachi grips my hip, keeping me from moving. “Go put something together for breakfast.”
Wolf lifts his arm enough to give us a long-suffering look. “If you insist, but I’m getting my cock sucked when I come back.”
“Go.”
I actually really like this dynamic. Malachi’s intensity and Wolf’s nonchalance… It does things to me… By things, it mostly makes me giggle
Chapter 13
Rylan, the one Wolf said would show up at some point. He couldn’t be more different from the wild blond vampire. He looks like some kind of CEO, and I swear the room dropped ten degrees when he entered. I shiver, and he flicks a look at me. His blue eyes go even colder.
Well, Katee really is just ticking off my types, isn’t she?
“Let’s just shelve the idea of murder for the time being.” I hesitate. “And maybe get some condoms, too? If you want to keep fucking?”
Yes, we love practicing safe sex!
If he lifted his leg and peed to mark his territory, I wouldn’t be surprised at this point.
So we’ve got possessive in Malachi, completely unserious in Wolf and now we have territorial in Rylan. I hope he doesn’t actually pee on the floor to mark his territory. That would be gross.
Chapter 14
“Listen to me, you idiot. She might be half vampire, but her other half isn’t entirely human.”
Ohh the plot thickens! Do I know what he is referring to because I skipped ahead out of curiosity? Yes. Am I going to tell you at any point in the commentary? No, but you can buy the book and find out for yourself using the link at the bottom of the page!
“You don’t like me.”
His lips twitch the tiniest bit. “Are you really that naïve you think sex and fondness have anything to do with each other?”
No notes, but curious to see how this dynamic unfolds!
Chapter 15
“If not me then some innocent human Wolf snatches up. Better to be me.” It’s not that I want to die. The exact opposite is true. But I don’t know if I can live with myself if someone innocent dies in my place. Being that ruthless would make me no better than my father. It would make me a monster.
No, ironically, I think that would make her human. No one wants to think about what they would do in situations like this, but humans are built to fight for their lives and someone would make that choice. It’s not a fatal flaw, though the guilt would be horrendous, it’s just realistic.
I take an unsteady breath. “I do trust you. Even if I shouldn’t.”
The smile Malachi gives me is nothing like I’ve seen before. It’s a small smile, but it lights up his dark eyes with something akin to happiness. “We’ll get free, Mina.”
Okay that was cute and I like him more for it.
I told Malachi I trusted him to not drop me like yesterday’s trash the second he gets free, but that’s as far as I can stretch this new trust.
You’ve known him like 2 weeks, to trust him even that much is dumb, but this is romantic fantasy, trusting his this much in this short a time is normal in this context.
Chapter 16
They’ve turned off the lights and added a scattering of candles around the perimeter of the room. I don’t know if it’s meant to be romantic, but it feels like I’m about to play sacrifice in some kind of arcane ritual.
Everyone likes a game of Sacrifice Roulette, right?
He takes my shoulders and smooths his thumbs over my collarbones. “Rylan says condoms will affect things.”
“I blink. Of all the things I expected, that wasn’t on the list. “What?”
“There’s magic even in our semen,” Rylan says from his spot next to the window. “It can’t hurt to add it in, along with the blood.”
I blink again. “That sounds like one hell of a line.”
This sounds like something a frat boy would pull. I laughed so hard at this
There it is again. That feeling off being a toy between them, something to be passed around. I expect to hate it, but the feeling never comes. How can it when they’re being so careful with me? Not a toy after all. I treat. I shiver.
She’s like an erotic joint. Thrust, thrust, pass…
Conclusion
Well, there was a bit more plot thrown in there with all the sex and the introduction of Rylan drove that for the most part. I’m glad Mina isn’t going to be a sacrifice or the book would end quite abruptly! Chapter 17 is the last of this Act, but I’m not including it because there was nothing I could write that wouldn’t spoil the story. With any luck, my commentary has made you curious enough about that last chapter!
